Skyward

Brandon Sanderson · 2018 · 513 pages

Spensa's father was branded a coward. She still wants to fly. On a planet trapped under a debris sky, cadets train to fight an alien force, and one girl's stubborn heart might be the most dangerous weapon in the hangar.

Why we picked it

Fighter school, found family, jokes, grief, and a ship that talks. Good if you like stubborn main characters.
